Rocky Mountain Car Wash Association Names New Officers

The Rocky Mountain Car Wash Association announced that David Begin of White Water Rapid Wash in Colorado Springs, Colo., will serve as president in 2010. Other new officers include Aaron Green of Kwik Car Wash in Parker and Littleton, Colo., as vice president, and Keith Taylor of Jazz Car Wash & Detailing in Littleton, as secretary/treasurer.

The RMCWA serves professional carwash facilities in Colorado and has several key initiatives, including promoting industry best practices and working with local and state agencies regarding the environmental benefits of professional carwash facilities. The association also is committed to educating the public and water-and-sewer providers on how commercial carwashes protect water resources.

“The need for environmentally friendly professional carwashing facilities is greater than ever before,” Begin said in a press release. “With local water resources being depleted at an increasing rate, professional carwashing and detailing facilities are stepping up efforts to utilize the latest in water management and reclamation technologies. Professional carwashing and detailing facilities are committed to ensuring that wastewater and soaps used in the carwashing process are managed and processed within EPA guidelines and don’t travel down storm sewers into the state’s rivers and lakes.”

The association’s efforts have resulted in the creation of water use standards and certification programs that have been adopted by major water utilities up and down Colorado’s Front Range region, RMCWA officials said.
