ICA Opens Registration for Wash Week Events

06/17/2009

Registration is now open for the International Carwash Association’s Wash Week, a five-day program, July 13-17, that will consist of three half-day seminars in Irvine, Calif., Chicago and Atlanta, as well as four live presentations online. The events are designed to present carwash owners and operators with tips and proven methods to reduce expenses and increase revenue.

Registration for the regional seminars is free for ICA members and available to nonmembers for $49. Webinar registration is free to anyone who would like to participate. Registration for all events is available online.

Wash Week seminars will be facilitated by Frank Lash, a past ICA president, and incorporate industry expertise from top carwash professionals around the world, the association announced. Each in-person seminar will run from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. and consist of roundtable discussions covering major industry issues, such as labor, chemicals, equipment, supplier relationships, water recycling, power management and partnerships with other carwash owners.

Immediately following each seminar, attendees may attend a special networking event to meet with other carwash operators and suppliers in their area.

The Wash Week seminars will kick off in Irvine on July 13, followed by stops in Chicago, July 15, and Atlanta, July 17.

During the off days, July 14 and July 16, Wash Week will feature two live webinars per day. The July 14 presentations will be Reducing Expenses through Power Management by Gary Dennis at 11 a.m. Eastern time and Partnering with Suppliers for Higher Profits and Lower Costs by Hank Richard at 3 p.m. ET. Presentations on July 16 will be Revising your Marketing Strategy for Today’s Consumer by Ryan Carlson at 11 a.m. ET and Staying Competitive by Improving Your Offerings by Fred Grauer at 3 p.m. ET. The webinars may be accessed via any computer.

In addition, the ICA said it will make special video episodes of The Cleaning Edge available to the public throughout Wash Week. Normally the video content is available only to members. The Wash Week episodes will demonstrate ways to reduce operating expenses and increase profits. Topics include saving money with chemistry, energy management, water reclaim, high-efficiency boilers, point-of-sale theory, carwash saturation mailing, multiprofit centers and bilingual carwashes.
