The International Carwash Association issued a warning yesterday that a reservation company is trying to mislead its trade show participants into making unnecessary hotel reservations.
Apparently the company is falsely telling member companies that rooms are running out in Orlando, the site of next year’s Car Care World Expo, and that they should reserve rooms right away through its reservation service.
“This reservation company is not affiliated or working with the International Carwash Association,” the ICA said in a released statement. “Registration and hotel blocks for Car Care World Expo will open on Dec. 1, 2007.”
“This company is deceiving our members, exhibitors and past Car Care World Expo attendees into making reservations through their company. We have more than enough rooms available, and we have the lowest prices,” said Mark Thorsby, ICA executive director. “We are taking all appropriate steps to put an end to this deceptive practice. We will take legal action if necessary. Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have encountered this type of practice, but their efforts have been foiled before and they will again this year.”
Car Care World Expo will take place April 7-10, 2008 in Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center. For more information on registration or hotel reservations please visit www.carcarecentral.com.
