As part of the International Carwash Association’s push toward Wash Week, the association has made available for download three presentations from April’s Car Care World Expo. Wash Week will be a five-day program, July 13-17, designed to provide carwash operators with ideas on how to grow their businesses. It will consist of three in-person, regional seminars and feature online education and networking opportunities through videos, presentations, webinars and discussions. The free PowerPoint presentations are available to members and nonmembers and focus on marketing and operational strategies that may be beneficial to carwashes during the recession. The session, Essentials of Marketing in a Down Economy, from Ryan Carlson, discusses the need to remain aggressive with marketing, including community relations and strengthening customer loyalty programs. Fred Grauer’s presentation, Staying Competitive by Diversifying Your Offerings, examines the need to remain flexible in operations and the importance of using a critical eye to improve internal processes. Operator Gary Dennis offers some useful tips on how to cut operational expenses, particularly electricity costs, in his discussion Power Management: An Overlooked Opportunity for the Car Wash Industry. Wash Week will kick off July 13 with an in-person seminar in Southern California, followed by stops July 15 in Chicago and July 17 in Atlanta. Those programs will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by a networking event. The Wash Week webinars are scheduled for July 14 and 16, running twice each day at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., Eastern time. Wash Week’ regional seminars will be free to ICA members and available for $49 to nonmembers. All webinars will be free to both members and nonmembers. Related Articles:
