Charlie Lieb, president of PDQ Manufacturing, will step down from his position July 1 and formally retire at the end of December, the company announced today. Mike Savignac, currently PDQ executive vice president, will assume the president’s role. The company said there are no changes planned with regard to strategy or operations.

“I am extremely proud of our accomplishments over the past 17 years and I have full confidence in the leadership at PDQ,” Lieb said in a released statement. “The time has come for me to spend more time with family and enjoying life.”

After July 1, Lieb will remain in an advisory role until the end of the year. “We have had a succession plan in place for some time, and the organization is well positioned for the transition,” he said.

“Charlie’s leadership has made PDQ the incredible company that it is today, and he will leave the organization well positioned for future growth,” commented Savignac, who has been executive vice president for the past seven years. “I’m privileged to have had the opportunity to work with such a visionary leader. Charlie will truly be missed by all of us and by those in the vehicle wash industry.”

During his long tenure, Lieb is credited with inspiring a spirit of innovation at PDQ, enabling the carwash equipment manufacturer to pioneer advancements within the in-bay automatic segment and touch-free carwash systems. The company’s LaserWash systems are among its cornerstone products.

Other PDQ brands include MaxAir dryers, Access customer management systems, Tandem RiteTouch wash systems, and SpectraWash conveyor tunnel systems.

Lieb is respected by industry peers for his contributions to the carwash industry. He has been a frequent speaker at industry events and has served on a number of association boards, including the International Carwash Association.
