CHICAGO, Ill. May 11-The Car Care World Expo, to take place June 4 to 6 in Las Vegas, will offer attendees more opportunity for networking and informal meetings, in response to attendee feed back from past ICA shows.
"Despite the success of the 2000 show, we constantly strive to make each year's event better than the year before," said Mark Thorsby, ICA executive director. "Each year we ask attendees and exhibitors to provide their feedback on the event, and we take their comments and suggestions into account as we plan for the next year's convention."
The ICA has combined the New Member Reception and the First Timer Orientation into a New Member/First Timer Breakfast that will take place the first day of the show. Members will have the opportunity to build relationships before the show and develop a buddy system to get the most out of their time at the Expo, Thorsby said.
There will also be more networking time on the opening day. In the past, opening day included educational sessions, a business speaker and the opening luncheon-all before the exhibit floor opened at 2 p.m. Attendees were often exhausted by the time they made it to the exhibit floor.
The association will offer a guest program as another new addition, allowing attendees to peak behind the scenes of EFX, a top Vegas musical extravaganza. Also, the International Reception has been expanded, to cater to the association's ever-expanding international attendee base.
Exhibitor workshops will be held so attendees can spend some one-on-one time with premier exhibitors before the Expo opens.
Other networking events include the Welcome Reception, Future Fantasy and the Annual Membership Meeting and Opening Luncheon.
