HOUSTON -- Bill Lawrence recently opened his third Bubbles Express location in the Houston area. The newest location, at 5701 FM 1960 East in Humble, marks the ninth operation in the Bubbles Car Wash chain, which also includes five Bubbles Hand Wash locations, The Houston Business Journal reported.
Unlike customers of the more meticulous Bubbles Hand Wash process, Lawrence says the Bubbles Express customer is the home-washer or the self-service carwash-user.
Lawrence and his partners, Clayton Clark and Bill DeArman, chose the Atascocita area for Bubbles Express because of the favorable demographics. Lawrence notes that the average household income, educational level and home ownership statistics in the area are all well above the norm.
To celebrate the grand opening, Lawrence and his partners offered free carwashes all day on Aug. 24. Lawrence came to Houston in 1987 to purchase an exotic car and immediately saw an opportunity in the bustling carwash industry. A few years later, he opened his first hand carwash location in the Galleria area. Other locations soon followed on Memorial, Kirby, South Mason Road and FM 1960.
The Bubbles Express concept was launched to complement the Bubbles Hand Wash operations. The Houston-based company has plans to open additional Bubbles Express locations on Louetta, Washington Avenue and in Pasadena before the end of the year.
