Fred Smith loves his job. The owner of the Las Vegas-based Fabulous Freddy’s Car Wash chain likes to be visible, actively wiping down cars, talking to customers, changing oil and pumping gasoline, according to an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Fabulous Freddy’s operates five locations in Las Vegas and two in St. George, Utah. The company is building a new facility in Salt Lake City and also operates a mobile detailing unit. Freddy's locations offer a mixture of full-service carwash services, exterior washes, hand washes, gasoline, fast lube and c-store convenience.
Smith also applies a creative approach to business, including offering full-service gasoline service at self-service prices, wireless Internet and special events. The company has held luaus in which it cooked a pig and showcased Hawaiian dancers. It also holds a Kids’ Day, in which it features a petting zoo, rock-climbing wall and a spot where kids can practice changing oil, the article said.
