Some residents of a Mooresville, N.C., subdivision are opposed to a proposed carwash because of potential traffic problems and water runoff, according to a report in the Statesville Record & Landmark. Opposition was heard this week during a public hearing held by the Iredell County Board of Supervisors.
The matter came before the board because the owner of the proposed carwash intends to use Mooresville water and sewer hookups and needs the half-acre property to be annexed by the town, the report said. Mooresville typically deals with annexation issues only in June, meaning early requests have to be initiated by the county, the article said.
