Metro Express Car Wash in Boise, Idaho, has ramped up its Internet marketing reach by inviting customers to follow the company’s activity on Twitter. The social networking site enables people and businesses to post what they are doing at any given moment of the day, and users can sign up to follow along.

The carwash is using Twitter in an integrated marketing approach, using its “tweets” (Twitter posts) to send people to the Metro Express Car Wash page on Facebook, promote the company’s search for local artists to display artwork on its electronic sign, and play trivia about its carwash facilities, according to a report on Examiner.com.

Like many businesses in other industries, Metro Express Car Wash is using social media channels and its official Web site to increase its visibility online. In turn, the carwash also is sending passersby to Twitter via an invitation posted on its primary signage.

The sign is visible to an estimated 53,000 motorists per day, according to the article. Thus far, Metro Express has 58 followers, according to its Twitter page.
