The International Carwash Association will sign an agreement next week with the Italian Car Washing Equipment Manufacturer and Traders Association, whereby both organizations will commit to exchanging market and technical information. The agreement will be signed during Autopromotec, an automotive trade show in Bologna, Italy.

Under the terms of the agreement, the ICA and the Italian association, also known as Federlavaggi, will commit to exchanging “relevant market and technical information for the purpose of exploring possibilities for increased trade, technological and knowledge sharing between members,” according to the text of the memorandum.

In addition, the organizations will assist one another in growing their conference events with the goal of increasing business ties between association members.

The agreement is another step in the ICA’s efforts to support the global carwash industry. The ICA has worked closely in the past with the Australian Car Wash Association with regard to water issues and certification programs, and has reached out to the Car Wash Association in the United Kingdom, which was established in 2007.

“Our goal in these endeavors, much like it is with Car Care World Expo and our educational offerings, is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information that can make our members and industry more successful,” said Eric Wulf, ICA executive director. “Our suppliers are selling more equipment overseas, and our operators are sourcing more supplies and ideas internationally. Over time, I expect this trend to only accelerate, which makes it incumbent upon us to be involved in outreach and information exchange around the world.”

Wulf will be present in Bologna to sign the agreement, along with Marco Mattioli, president of the Italian association.
