After nearly two years of negotiations with town officials in Perinton, N.Y., carwash owners Mark and Michelle Landers have broken ground on their second location. The couple has operated Rapid Laser Wash in Rochester, N.Y., for five years and is eyeing a fall opening for their next facility, Rapid Perinton Express Car Wash, according to a report by MPNnow.com.
The Landerses said they had to convince Perinton officials that a carwash would be a viable business for the community and follow aesthetic guidelines for the facility’s architecture. The approved carwash will incorporate Colonial-style architecture to fit in with the historical feel of nearby buildings. The facility will offer an express conveyor tunnel, two touch-free in-bay automatics, a self-service bay and nine vacuum stations. The project broke ground last month.
The couple also will lease a second building to City Brew Coffee, which will offer drive-through service and some indoor seating for customers interested in gourmet coffee, tea and other beverages.
