Several Ryko Manufacturing carwash equipment models can now be interfaced with the XpresWash radio frequency identification (RFID) carwash payment system developed by XpresSystems Inc., the companies announced.

The XpresWash system allows customers to purchase carwashes as frequently as they like for a fixed price per month or per year. Cash and credit card payments are unnecessary at the time of a wash because the technology uses a vehicle-specific RFID tag to process each customer. XpresWash customers have reported higher wash counts and per-car revenue, the companies said.

“While monthly wash programs have long been used by full-serve washes to increase revenue, they have not been practical for sites that are unattended for part or all of the wash day,” Ryko officials said in a released statement. “With this interface, Ryko can provide our unattended and flex-tunnel, multi-bay private investor, and convenience-store customers pay-one-price wash programs that are tied directly to a specific vehicle.”

XpresWash is currently the only RFID carwash payment system supported by Ryko for use with its AMTT and AMTT CS activation systems. The RFID system will interface with Ryko’s Rocket, SoftGloss, Radius, Trio and Select-A-Wash carwash equipment, the company said.

“This interface with [Ryko] is a major step for us toward compatibility with all major conveyor, rollover brands and activation brands,” said Brian Dohm, founder and president of XpresSystems. “Convenience store customers with XpresWash and Ryko equipment have substantially increased their revenue and cash flow, and this relationship will make this solution available to many new customers.”
