Westport Wash and Wax in Westport, Conn., celebrated Good Neighbor Day last week when it hosted a charity carwash. Scott Tiefenthaler and his wife Laila have continued the tradition since 2001, when they first decided to support a local nonprofit organization, according to a report by the Westport Minuteman.

The carwash has raised funds annually for Interfaith Housing Association/Homes with Hope, donating $6,500 last year. The group provides programs and services for the homeless and those at risk of losing their homes. Services include emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, meals and life-skills training.
