Fire officials ruled arson was to blame for a fire that destroyed the former Mady’s Car Wash Jan. 4 in Pottsville, Pa. Pottsville Fire Chief Todd March said fires were set in multiple locations inside the building, and there was evidence of forced entry into the facility, according to a report by the Republican-Herald.

The blaze gutted the carwash and caused about $350,000 in damage. The building will have to be demolished, fire officials said.

The carwash was built in 1958 and operated under Mady Associates until it was sold in 2003. David Snowell purchased the facility in 2007 for $800,000 but was foreclosed on last October by Susquehanna Bank of Lititz, which was the current owner, according to the article. The carwash was shut down last year.
