Car Lovers Car Wash based in Charlottesville, Va., has raised more than $3,500 for the Robert Ford Haitian Orphanage and School Foundation, according to the company’s Web site. Car Lovers donated an entire Saturday’s worth of profits to the organization and coordinated with other local businesses to match up to half of its donation, according to a report by WVIR television.
Car Lovers Vice President Matt Bascom told the station he decided to help raise money for Haiti when he learned about the magnitude 7.0 earthquake that struck the nation Jan. 12.
The carwash company operates two exterior carwashes in Charlottesville and one in Waynesboro, Va.
