Bruce Arnett Jr., COO of Mr. Clean Car Wash, has been announced as the presenter during the Southwest Car Wash Association’s CEO Forum, Feb. 21, which will kick off the SCWA’s 2010 Convention & Car Wash EXPO in Arlington, Texas. Arnett is expected to forecast the 2010 business climate for carwash owners, as well as discuss the impact the Mr. Clean Car Wash chain will have on individual owners.
Mr. Clean Car Wash is owned by consumer products giant Procter & Gamble. P&G made waves last year when it purchased the former Carnett’s Carwashes chain run by Arnett and his father, Bruce Arnett Sr., and announced its intention to make Mr. Clean Car Wash the industry’s first national chain.
The Carnett’s purchase gave Mr. Clean Car Wash 14 locations in the Southeast in addition to its two corporate stores in the Cincinnati area. Since then, Agile Pursuits Franchising Inc., the P&G subsidiary that oversees the carwash franchising efforts, has secured additional Mr. Clean Car Wash franchisees in the Southeast, the Ohio Valley, Chicago and Colorado.
P&G also has pinpointed Texas for rapid expansion, with the company expected to open its first Texas franchise in Round Rock later this year. The company envisions a stable of more than 20 carwash locations in the Lone Star State. Los Angeles and New Jersey also have been mentioned as desirable markets.
The 2010 Convention & Car Wash EXPO will be held Feb. 21-23 at the Arlington Convention Center and Sheraton Hotel.
Other show highlights include the show’s keynote address, scheduled to be delivered Feb. 22 by former Louisiana governor Charles E. "Buddy" Roemer as part of the convention’s general session. In addition, the expo will include a full slate of carwash industry education, as well as opportunities to meet industry leaders from the carwash services market, including equipment manufacturers and product suppliers. More than 200 exhibitors are expected.
Attendees may also participate in a Dallas Cowboys Stadium event Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. Participants will tour the $1.1 billion stadium and enjoy a reception in the locker room. The stadium seats up to 100,000 people and features two monumental arches, the world’s largest high-definition video board and a retractable roof.
