Black Dog Car Wash’s fifth location will feature more than 30 solar panels on its roof, variable frequency drives (VFDs) on the carwash equipment and energy-efficient LED and compact fluorescent lights, according to a report by Foster’s Daily Democrat. The new facility is scheduled to open in January.

The carwash will feature a 3,680-square-foot building and four touch-free automatic wash bays, making it the largest of its kind in New Hampshire, according to owner Jeremiah Gage.

The first Black Dog Car Wash opened in 2004 and a second facility was launched in 2005. The company also converted two former Wash Me Now facilities in 2006. Gage’s family owns two black Labrador retrievers, Cynder and Maddison, which inspired the company name.
