Quicki-Kleen Car Wash in Manteca, Calif., anticipated it would donate about 70 turkeys this Holiday season to the Manteca Second Harvest Food Bank thanks to the generosity of its carwash customers, according to a report by the Manteca Bulletin.
Customers purchasing the carwash’s third-tier wash package for $20 will have a turkey donated in their name. Participants also are honored at the carwash with donation cards strung together as decorative streamers inside the facility’s convenience store. Each card features a customer's name and an illustrated turkey.
Some customers also donated frozen turkeys during the drive, the article said.
Last year, Quicki-Kleen Car Wash donated about 100 turkeys during a similar promotion.
